MOTU TRIVIA; Performer 4.2 Instructional Video

Post by midilance »

In 1992 I did a two hour long instructional video on PERFORMER 4.2. This might be fun to check out to see how life was back then. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihPn1xT ... 74eEKxFRV2

That’s amazing. I ran out of time about 20 minutes in but will go back and finish it. I don’t suppose you’d want to udpate that to DP 11/12?

Love it!

I think that haircut needs to be donated to the Smithsonian.

Nope. I won't be doing any more instructional videos. I've gotten old and clapped out. Now I'm just having fun in retirement using DP 11 to make music that makes me happy just like you should do. DP is elegant and powerful It's never ever said "no" to me when I've needed a way to do something.

Right on, Midilance! I think it was Tom Scholz of Boston who said something like this: "Making music is a terrible occupation but a wonderful hobby!" Now that I'm no longer a "professional" musician for a vocation, I can (and do) take 2 or 3 months to record and "perfect" a song because I have no deadline and I can enjoy the process! It's good to get back to my childhood roots when I sat down at the family piano and "hunted and pecked" to find the notes to "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head". I played music because I enjoyed it.....And NOW I'm enjoying it again! :D

Here is shown how "solo mode" behaved in the past (yeap I started with Performer 4.1 and yeap I'm gettin' older!). It was just a matter of selecting a track or a bunch of them, than push the Solo button et voilà: the selected tracks were soloed. I loved that way to solo tracks. For me it was much a simpler procedure than the actual one, where (if you are in the T.O.) you must select those tiny little individual solo buttons on a track base.
But you know: to each their own :)
