Hello,
I have a weird issue. When I select a MIDI instrument channel 1, it automatically selects Patch 1, etc. I know there used to be a way, way way way back to deselect a patch, but cannot find it.
I know how to remove a Default Patch, but not the Patch.
I hope this makes sense.
Any roads to follow would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
M

Re: Remove Patch not Default Patch
[EDIT: OH, SORRY! You said you know how to get rid of the default patch.]
I haven't used "Default Patch" in a while, but I remembered having the same trouble.
Here's the workaround I used to do:
If you change the MIDI channel of the track, it will clear the DEFAULT PATCH. Then you can change it back.
I like to remind folks about these shortcuts as they are useful. Select some MIDI tracks then...
SHIFT + UP/DOWN ARROW BUTTONS - changes the MIDI device or VI
OPTION + UP/DOWN - changes the MIDI Channel
SHIFT + OPTION + UP/DOWN - moves the selection to the NEXT/PREVIOUS track

Yea, I tried that. Unfortunately, when I go back to MIDI channel 1, it Patch 1 returns.
Re: Remove Patch not Default Patch
Are you working with a template that has patch changes included? Look in the event list for a patch change (you can filter them) or in the SE in the patch lane for the track. They can be removed in either place. Not sure this is what you're looking for.
