Installing DP9.5 on Windows 11

Post by Kev »

I've just built a new DAW PC after my old one died. Attempts to install DP9.5 have failed so far. The error message was unhelpful:

0x800b0101 - A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

Has anyone successfully installed this version of DP on W11?

I hope you get an answer, but might reach out directly to MOTU on that one. DP 9.5 pretty much was released long before Windows 11. Although I know this isn't as big a deal on Windows as it is on Macs. On Macs, OS updates tend to break "legacy" software more easily. You might need to update. DP11 is pretty good.

Manually set the clock on your computer to sometime after May in 2018, ie 6/30/2018. I have run into the expired certificate thing a couple of times, but on uninstall. You can set the clock back to automatic once you're done installing.

That worked perfectly.
Problem solved.
