Hello.
Can you please tell me if they are compatible or not? Does anyone have experience of using them? Macbook doesn't have firewire but can it work with thunderbolt adapter?

It's not supported so, officially, they're incompatible. That said, if you get a FW400-800 adapter or cable (if needed), plug into the Apple FW–TB Adapter and download the correct drivers, it will work.

You want the MOTU Audio Installer for the 8pre USB. Download the correct one for your MacOS. I don't think you can run Sonoma without a hack but Sonoma compatible drivers have not been released yet.
