Setting Track Group Behavior-Help, Please

Hey folks......
I'm doing some mixing in DP and have a track group that I'm trying to get to behave as I'd like. In two different DP projects, I have the Custom settings for the track group set as the same…

In one project, during playback, I'm able to mute individual tracks within the group (when I want to focus on a different track in the group) and they stay muted, even when there is volume automation on the track (the faders move up and down, but the channel stays muted). In another, the muted tracks keep "un-muting" in response to volume automation, so I also have to turn off automation playback to get them to stay muted.

Automation is set to Latch on all channels in both projects.

What am I missing?
