896mk3 FW and MBPro M2 Ventura

Post by Graywolf »

Planning on upgrading to a 14” MacBook Pro M2, Ventura but I’m still using an 896mk3 firewire. Will it work, other than needing a thunderbolt to FireWire adapter?

You will need two adapters, both Apple. The FW–TB plugs into the TB2–TB3 which plugs into your new Mac.

Read my response in this recent thread. You’ll find the correct driver listed for the 828mk3 Hybrid since that is still supported.
