Off and on Crackling, audio distortion and Audio Performance Overloads

Post by midilance »

This has been happening for at least a month. So far I can't figure out what's causing it. It happens at different times. A song starts playing. Every sounds good and then all of sudden it falls apart with Audio Performance overloads. It's maddening. So far I've reinstalled the OS (Monterey) and DP. The problem continues. I've even taken a simple project with two stereo tracks and IT did the same thing. I'm wondering if I might have an issue with my Ultralite Mk4.

Any ideas or suggestons?

Hmmm… I’m guessing one way you might figure out if it’s a driver/audio interface issue is to go into Hardware Setup and get it to play out the Mac speaker or some system audio output instead of the MOTU interface. If it doesn’t choke, then seems like it could be related to your interface or the driver.

Have you watched the plug-in performance window? You’ve not mentioned any one way or the other.

According to Lance, Clock Source turned out to be the issue.

Looks like I was wrong. It's still happening. I have no idea what is wrong.
