Padshop AU: Steinberg intentionally not making AS-native?

Post by James Steele »

So I have Cubase on my Mac... don't really use it much but it's interesting to dabble in. As part of that I some Steinberg plug-ins were installed including one called Padshop. I installed the latest version, but what's interesting is that the VST3 and AAX versions show they are Apple Silicon native, but the Audio Unit is conspicuously Intel 64! It does work in DP, but Steinberg I guess isn't interested in making that AU AS-native? Not Invented Here syndrome?

Better still... try to open Padshop VST3 inside of Komplete Kontrol 2.9.1 and DP crashes.
