Okay... I see the little padlock icon to the left of the URL in my Brave browser. Well, I had to spend a few bucks, but it's fixed. Happily marking THIS topic "RESOLVED" :shake:

I'm probably going to look hard soon into shrinking the top banner a little so I can wedge a small google ad in the upper right corner. Something not as obtrusive as those sliding things that Google added to the site when I let their AI decided for me.

Sorry you had to go through that.

I hope that you can monetize this site at least enough to break even but showing a return would be better, of course. Those sliding ads did get in the way, however.

I don't care how big the ads are. Maybe you can give Doris a raise.

PS: I use an ad blocker.

PPS: Thanks for your continuing support for this important website James.

What's interesting is my bookmark is https, and it shows as sure with the lock icon, but I can go to threads that don't show a lock icon while https. Last night it was totally blocked with https. Also above my pay grade...

Of course you do. Everyone does. Well not everyone I guess, otherwise countless forums might just disappear.

Which is why I wish we could find a way to monetarily support this forum besides whichever way the Google winds blow that James would agree to. Perhaps an anonymous tip jar? Any ideas?

Most of us might have a blocker but some of us don’t apply it on every site.

Well, I might put a little PayPal button somewhere. I didn't need to do it while Sweetwater still had a banner ad here. Last time I had one, though, I made sure it could be a max donation of $1. Don't want people doing too much. Funny story... in the early days of Unicornation which is what it was called then, I got a PayPal donation from Kerry Livgren of Kansas! That was pretty cool!

Perhaps that explains the name change between Doris and Dorothy, if we are not in Kansas anymore (or maybe Kerry isn't; I haven't kept track, as that is a job for an accountant).

I think that was a senior moment.
