thunderbolt number of channels

I want to double check one thing:

For the Thunderbolt AVB interfaces MOTU specifies: Thunderbolt (44.1 to 96 kHz): 128 in/out

Does this mean 128 inputs and 128 outputs running simultaneously or 64 inputs and 64 outputs simultaneously?
