Just dropping in to say that using MOTU Audio Installer 89555, I was able to get a FireWire UltraLite mk3 (non-Hybrid) working just fine on Intel Mac in Monterey 12.5.1 (via first starting in Recovery Mode to lower the security setting, which after installation I could restore back).

Despite what the MOTU site says, the installer supports the interface just fine.

The MOTU site doesn't say anything about it not working. They don't post anything about it because they will not support the use.

We are not under that restriction, of course.
