Just an appreciation for DP's set of plugins
I just pulled up a mix project that I did in 2005 with a lot of delays, reverbs and other effects. I was listening to it couldn't figure out where the printed effects tracks were. As I realized that all of the effects were still live (all on the individual tracks for some reason). I was shocked that I could possibly be that lucky that all of the effects were still working properly. I looked through each track and found that they were all DP plugins. I can't remember if I didn't have other plugins back then or if I had challenged myself to only use the DP plugins, but, it's really amazing to be able to pull up a mix from 17 years ago and have it work exactly the same. It's not a good idea to rely on though I guess, but, still pretty impressive.

Wow, that is a fun anecdote to read. I like how your current self (wise from experience) was asking "where are the the printed FX?"
I've opened old projects and the main thing I run into is how VI's can't be found, and that is because the VI devs tack version numbers onto their VI names (?) (e.g. Pianoteq 5, etc.)
We hear lots of stories of folks struggling to open old projects because of the famous missing header issue. Nice to read about a thing working out nicely.

Re: Just an appreciation for DP's set of plugins
I was pleasantly surprised.
I opened a few more back from around then, and all of IKMultimedia plugins couldn’t be found.
Thankfully, at some point, I started printing VI tracks and effects. Coming from a previously all sequencing and live keyboards in the mix approach before DP added the “Digital”, it took me a while before I started doing that too. Most of my old synths still work, but, they get buggier every day and one of them (that I haven’t been able to find a replacement) has died altogether.
You live and learn. Still, very cool about the MOTU plug-ins (except Mach 3).

They had plugin effects 17yrs ago?
I have some old stuff still in my iTunes playlist that needs to be remixed once I get my M1 Mini online ,I think they be the same all DP plugs.
My mixing skills sure have changed over the years some of that old stuff makes me cringe.

Re: Just an appreciation for DP's set of plugins
Hey I have a few tracks I could contribute to that!
Well, I just learned I have to find a project from 2003. I'm totally confident DP can pull up the files, IF I can find them! I don't remember what format I archived to in those days.. CD ROM.. DVD?
DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, Monterey, 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.

Back OP, I used MW Equalizer to fix a vocal that didn’t respond to anything else.

Re: Just an appreciation for DP's set of plugins
I like PSPaudio’s Neon a little better than MW Equalizer, but, not by much. My EQ choices are usually based more on how easy they are to dial in from the Mackey MCU than any other reason though.
