Manually increase the volume

Post by harmonicaman »

I had to manually increase the volume so it is in a level good enough for youtube

Is this way of editing audio acceptable?

Did it work? That's all that matters.

Without knowing what you really mean by manually increase the volume, I'll bet that there are better ways.

YouTube imposes its own "mastering algorithm" on any file you upload. There are ways to anticipate it but none that defeat it. Trial, error and tweaking my settings over the last few years is how did it. I master my videos in Adobe Premiere, Premiere Elements or FinalCut ProX depending and tweak my levels for video in that, not DP.
