Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 Crashing

Post by pacificm »

I know this is a MOTU site. But, I'm using the latest version of Vienna Ensemble Pro(VEP) 7 within MOTU DP 11.02.

I have three machines. The master is a new Intel iMac with Big Sur. My two support machines are Macs with Catalina. I've been using VEP with MOTU for years with countless plug-ins with no problem.

Now, all of a sudden, when I click on a plug-in in VEP it crashes. This happens more the longer the machines are running with VEP open. This is happening with several plug-ins in both Big Sur and Catalina - but more in Big Sur.

If I open up the plug-in directly in DP no problem. The plug-in works well.

I've been in touch with VEP and related plug-in supports to no avail. Has anyone had a similar experience or any suggestions?

Thanks!

Having the same issue now. Suspect that motu audio system is the villain here as it was the only thing I’ve updated.
Have you found any solution?

Try a Safe Boot, Restart your Mac. Next, start DP in Safe mode, Quit and Restart. See if you still have a problem.
