Big Sur / MOTU Pro Audio Driver - when?

Post by marcin_c »

Is there any chance for a MOTU Pro Audio driver for Big Sur in December? Any news? Anyone know what plans?

I have the UltraLite MK3/hybrid and when installing the newest driver (ver. 89555), the driver does not work, I can not access the MK3 whatsoever.

Anyone else with this issue?

I had the same experience as ronnb: I am running macOS Big Sur 11.6.2, installed the latest MOTU driver (version 89555), and immediately after restarting my UltraLike mk3 Hybrid not longer shows up as an audio interface. Not as an audio device in System Preferences or any audio app, nor does the MOTU Audio Setup see it. I can see it as a USB device in System Profiler, so the USB connection is okay. And yes, I did allow the extension in the Security system preferences before restarting.

I reverted to version 88494 of the MOTU driver, which is still available if you scroll down the download page (https://motu.com/en-us/download/product/251/), and now it works again. So, it appears to be an issue with the latest driver. I'll report my issue to MOTU, but hopefully this'll help other folks get back to a working state in the meantime.
