pcie424+2408mk3

Post by GeorgePen »

Hello guys!I have recently been given by a friend a 2408mk3 with the PCIe424.I am on win 10 with an AMD based PC (ryzen7 2700x) and I m trying to get it work but no luck!I have plugged everything and I have try a lot of different drivers from older to latest. To the point....The Led panel on 2408 blinks like crazy, random leds blinking and when I open MOTU PCI Audio Console on configure interface the drop down menu is empty next says Audiowire:0 and Total PCI Use:inputs enabled 0,outputs enabled 0,Aprx 0.00MB per second. When I open CUEmixFX it says pci424 so I think the pci is there but I have no channels on.As I can understand there is no connection between PCIe424 and the 2408.I have also try several restarts and also changing the pcie slot, again with no luck!

Any info would be very useful!!!!

You need the drivers.

https://motu.com/techsupport/technotes/driverlog

Click on 2408mk3… and download whichever is closest to your setup. I have no idea if you need to do anything special to set these up in Win 10 — but others might. Likewise, I have no idea if it works with AMD this late.

CueMix is built into the card. A FW400 cable can usually be substituted for AudioWire.

I don't recognize that specific error scenario, but it does sound like as if the PCI card doesn't manage to discover the 2408 card. Now, I forgot if the cable between the Motu PCI card and the 2408 has to be the one that comes from Motu, or if you can use a random firewire cable? Maybe that's the issue? Not sure. Maybe the cable is simply damaged?

But for what it's worth, I've been using a PCIe-424 + 2408 mk3 + 24 I/O with Windows 10 pro (64 bit) on a Ryzen 5900X cpu, and my setup was completely stable. No weird glitches. WaveOut, MME and ASIO all worked fine even when using multiple inputs and outputs at 96 khz. So I can confirm that using an AMD cpu and Windows 10 is totally okay.

I have similar problem with mac os mojave (os high sierra is working good), I solved as below but after restart the computer I still see crazy blinking led, every time I have to open pci audio consol :
Open motu pci audio console,
then choose 2408mk3,
then click "interface options",
then click "word out rate"
choose "44.1/48 (divide by 88.2 or 96 by 2)"

maybe it will help to you
