MOTU Ultralite MK IV -can you access the mixer offline?

Post by michaeljapan »

Hi. I have had this unit for a few years, latency down to 64samples and lovely in my studio which has wi-fi. However, I need to do a recording on location and wondering if you can access the mixer offline - the locale has no wi-fi. I guess I could tether from my phone, but for a 5 hour session, not the best. Are these units designed to only work online? Is there no other way to access the analog inputs, effects, mixer, mute, compression, etc?

"The MOTU Pro Audio Control web app runs in any modern web browser running on the computer connected to the UltraLite-mk4, or any mobile device (tablet or smartphone) on the same Wi-Fi network as the computer." Presumably that means you only need wifi for a mobile device. You need a computer one way or another.

Thank you. I think my question is simpler than you realize. I will be in a situation where there is no internet. Can you access the units mixers ins and outs, volume levels, mute, etc. without internet. If you cannot, how can adjust the playback levels etc.

All I was saying is the quoted sentence from the manual suggests is that the physical connection between the computer and the Ultralite is all you need.
