As for the M1 Mini, audio performance is impressive and there are those running DP on them. Video editing on the 7 core version works but rendering time often sucks; the 8 core is a lot better but it’s optimized for FCPx. Those using Premiere are waiting for the next version if the iMac and Mac Pro that are known to be in the pipeline (will we see something in June?).

It's possible, the other part is it's easy enough for you to run DP in Rosetta and compare it to Logic on the M1. It's likely that the performance is good enough. Remember even with Logic most of the plug ins your using will be running in Rosetta anyway.
M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.

I currently have (2) 2408's connected via PCIe to my 2008 Mac Pro.

I emailed MOTU and asked about the 24i vs 16a and why the big price jump with the 16a. They said it was because the DAC is that much better on the 16a. It looks like the dynamic range on the 16a is better as well.

I'm wondering if anyone has the Antelope Orion 32 or the MOTU 24i ... and if they're happy with it? These 2408's have been absolute workhorses and I've had good luck with MOTU hardware but I'm wondering if the Orion 32 is THAT MUCH BETTER than the 24i/24o to justify this price jump?

Antelope Orion 32 $2790

Motu 24i ($995) and 24o ($995) $1990

Motu 16a (2 of them) $2990
