Adobe Audition Issues with MOTU M4

Post by TomConklinVO »

Hey guys... Does anyone here use Adobe Audition? It's my DAW of choice for doing voiceover recordings, but for some reason I cant seem to figure out why I am getting clicks and pops and other artifacts in my recordings. I've tried every sample rate/buffer size combination possible. I feel its an Audition issue because I can record into Performer Lite and I don't have the same problems while using that. Is there anything I could be missing?

Thanks!

Could clicks and pops be caused by buffer size?

AA 3.0 has been my daw of choice for years for VO, having recycled through Win XP, 7, and now Win 10.

For years I used a MOTU Audio Express (never any complaints about the sound quality) but occasional frustration having to address sluggishness not related to cpu performance.

With a new M4 at half the price of the Audio Express and, to my ears, zero compromise on audio quality, my AA 3.0 now works better than ever, the only suggestion I can make is perhaps doing a driver re-install on the M4 software? Change to a larger buffer?
