Such a shock as he lived such a healthy lifestyle and was actively engaged socially just a few days ago, but it was a rare (and quick) form of cancer that was only recently detected.

Probably no other modern pianist in any genre had a bigger impact on my musical arranging style and my approach to writing than Chick. I saw him live many times, and each time was a memorable experience that remains etched into my brain more than almost any other concerts I have attended.
