Hey, I just joined this forum, because I am trying to find help. I am totally lost and am about to have to send back my just newly bought Motu Microbook llc.
I'd hope I can avoid that.
So my problem, I purchased a Neumann Tlm 102 together with the microbook - and wanted to try it out.
I plugged it up, and installed the drivers, with it CueFix.
Now my 1. issue:
I tried on my PC, and I get the error message "effects not available at 2x sample rate". I tried out multiple usb ports, same issue with all.
I set the in and output to the right aux and mic, plug in my Neumann, turn on Phantom power, and when I record -> it sounds like I have a voice changer, lol. My voice is like 5 octaves deeper and it's like 50hz cracking noice only. No settings done in CueFix (effects not available at 2x sample rate).
I tried it out on my laptop. Same issue, but sometimes only, sometimes not. Sometimes I see my mic and not the sample rate issue, looks good - but when I try and record, it still only sounds like deep cracking. Occasionally the audio output just stops. No settings changed, audio output still set to aux, I can see the volume output jumping up and down, just nothing comes out. A restart helps and it works again.
Wtf is this all?
I tried to reinstall the drivers, tried on 2 deviced - could the hardware be broken and cause such issues?
Thankfull for any help, I am totally clueless.
Cheers
Help!!! Microbook llc

Re: Help!!! Microbook llc
I found on youtube this video - this looks quite like what I am getting, too. As one of the issues.

Old video, sadly nobody replied or commentef on that video either.

Re: Help!!! Microbook llc
First off, like many recorders (my Zoom) and other interfaces (my Mackie), effects are only available at 44.1 and 48kHz sampling rates. For some, 44.1 is all that is supported for effects (my Zoom). I don't know if the Microbook supports effects at 44.1/48 or 44.1 only but that will be in the specs. The spec sheet doesn't say what sampling rates are supported for effects but your error message says that 88.2/96 aren't—which is typical.

I suspect that the voice problem is that your DAW is not set to the same sampling rate as your Microbook. Again, you don't say but the error message tells me it's set to either 88.2 or 96kHz.
It may also be a clock issue (read the manual) or the buffer in your DAW is set way too low.
The firmware should be v1.08. Also make sure you have the latest drivers if Windows:

Step 1: read the manual as necessary.

Step 2: set the sample rate of the device to 44.1 or 48 so that you can test the effects
Step 3: set your DAW to match the sample rate of your hardware
Step 4: see if you still have a problem
Step 5: Let us know what happens
