Create new soundbite from current selected

Post by Julia123 »

I can't recall how to copy a soundbite to a new track and then be able to edit the new copy without it affecting the soundbite I just copied from. It seems like I used to copy and then try various fades and edit versions of the same bite without it duplicating on the original bite.

Also, is there any reason control/command D will not duplicate my selected tracks? If I use the menu it works, just not the key command. I did not change this In commands and the lists control/command/D in the menu as the correct key command.

Has anyone had this happen? I am thinking these may be software glitches as I can't find any support info on these particular issues.

I think you need Sequence Editor> Mini-Menu>Edge Edit copy checked.

+1

If you add a fade before edge editing, the fade will attach to all copies. Once an edge is edited the soundbite becomes unique
