Ah, ha. Then likely a bug. It too'll go in the TechLink. Thanks. These confirmations help.

Per your post above williem, I did find an old prefs folder and trashed it, but it didn't help any of my issues.

If you, or anyone, would care to check another issue. Split Notes causes a crash 100% of the time for me.

So (after saving), select MIDI notes in the SE or TO and then Region > Split Notes > Copy or Cut > to an existing track = Crash. ...Copying to New Track is okay.

This would be one workaround for the constrain issue, but alas...

Thanks again.
Yes, I can repeat this. I sent the crash report to MOTU (as I always do).

I've also posted a tech link for both the Shift drag bug and the copy versus move bug. I've had to pretend I'm posting a V9 bug, then tell them V9 is not working the same as the V10 trial. I guess I'll just have to buy V10 so I can tell them what's wrong with it before I report the Split Notes bug.

Well, they’re gonna get you eventually bayswater :) Who knows if anyone is checking the DP9 inbox at MOTU right now. I submitted one TechLink that included all three issues (Split note crash, contrain-drag and ‘drag to new track creates copy’). ...They could be related?

The tech note menus list the products you have and you pick one. They might be focussing on the posts for DP10 right now. Anyway, I've paid up.
Yes, these bugs are likely related. They all have to do with notes going from track to track in the sequence editor. It works as expected within a track, or in the Tracks window.

Shift Dragging notes bug is a known issue. It is being worked on but there doesn't appear to be solution yet, so it may or may not be fixed in the next update.

yeah, teh only thing that trashing it did for me was to fix my "Opt-Drag" issue. All of the other issues you guys have been mentioning here, I'm also experiencing.

At this point, I'm begining to wonder just how "ready-for-primetime" this release was? Yes, yes, yes, I'm well aware that new versions will have their handful of "issues". But some of these "issues" are with long-standing, fundamental functions of DP and make the program virtually useless for *some* (not all) of us. Inability to copy MIDI data from track to track??? C'mon, how did *that* slip by?

Anyway, as I said, they were great about getting me sorted with my original issue, but it seems like they've got an awful lot of work, just to get it back to where it was?

Well, you can still copy and paste between tracks, but yeah, not being able to drag data predictably between tracks seems like a big thing to not notice.

After reading all this, I'm kind of glad I'm in the process of moving. I couldn't do any MIDI work if I had to. Fortunately, I don't have to.

I hope they get this sorted in the next few.

I'm not seeing any of the problems listed above. All forms of dragging and copying are working as usual. Just sayin... :unicorn:

You would indeed be the unicorn if that's the case. MOTU has acknowledged each of these, I believe, and stated they would be fixed in the next update....MLC, can you really shift-constrain MIDI events when dragging them track-to-track in the SE in DP10?
