What is a Wav. file cd ?

Post by yofo »

What is a Wav. file cd ? Someone asked for a Wav. file cd . I usually bounce to AIF and then drag in to Toast . Would there be a difference if I bounced to Wav. This might sound like a stupid question and I almost brushed the whole thing off but maby there is a difference .

The format for CDs is AIF. Sounds to me like somebody either doesn't know what they're talking about, or they want a data CD-ROM with .wav files.

I would assume that it's a data CD containing .wav files.

Well, technically a CD is neither .wav or .aif....
I would assume that they would like a cd of uncompressed audio (ie NOT mp3s). Whether you bounce to .wav or .aif shouldn't make a difference because when you burn it in toast (or whatever program you are using) it will convert it to the standard CD format.
