Burning a CD

Post by Westlyn »

Thanks in advance for any insights.

I've mixed and bounced down to stereo (interleaved) a bunch of my tracks and want to burn them to CD.

I've studied the process described in the manual (p. 892) and did the step-by-step.
I'm stuck at File Menu> Bounce to disk. Burn Audio CD is not offered as an option. I don't know why. Or what to do.

Thanks,

Jim Westlyn

There are many threads on the frustrating subject of burning CDs from DP. Bottom line: No one recommends doing this.

There are many freeware, shareware and commercial apps for burning CDs in Windows. Depending on your OS and goals, recommendations can be made.

What is the goal: a master for commercial duplication? a copy for yourself or a client? other?

Hey Mike:

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

Mostly, I'm thinking of using CDs to archive older work and for people who might be interested to collaborate with me on new work. I also like to hear if sounds any good in my car.

Is there a third party CD Burning software that you recommend?

Roxio Toast is for the Mac (I use it, like it)

The Windows version is called Easy CD & DVD Burning and begins at $29.99. From your description, I don't know that you need anything more:
https://www.roxio.com/en/products/easy- ... /standard/

It has most of the features of the Mac version except for the ability to burn multiple CDs simultaneously and certain advanced video capability. Here's the feature set:
