Update for BPM?

Post by scrizzle »

Is there any talk or chance of BPM getting an update or upgrade in the future? I just recently decided to give it a try again and it doesn't seem to like Windows 10 very much. The standalone will not even see my audio interface and I tried 3 different ones including my old Motu Audio Express. The vst still works. I think its time for BPM to re-enter its hat in the ring with some possible new updates & features or at least so it works with Windows 10 correctly. If I'm not mistaken its been about 4-5 years since the last one.

Happy Beat Making!!!

I think Motu BPM is dead. But it's still a great piece of software. It was my favorite.

I switched my Beatprocessing to UVI. Beat Box Anthology2 and the new Drum Designer are very good. I hope that there is coming a BPM 2 from UVI. I think the Drumdesigner is the first step to realize a new 'BPM'.

UVI devoloped BPM. I don't know why Motu cancelled the work with UVI.

BPM support is very, very bad. No more MOTU for me. Never!

It would appear that Motu has pretty much gotten out of the VI development aspect of their business. MachFive is dead at version 3 and MX 4 wasn’t updated when it was included in DP for free. They’re still great VIs but Motu seems to be focusing on hardware now.

If that’s what it takes to keep DP alive, I’m onboard with that.

Perhaps UVI cancelled its deal with MOTU. We don’t know and neither company has ever said. In any case, that was a long time ago now.

I never used BPM and have no dog in this fight. I notice that the intro price for Drum Designer is $99.

No idea how it compares or if it does. I have enough drum VIs for now and have a few drummers to call on when I want something different as I often do.

I looked at Drum Designer. Could be fun but I have no use for a “beat and groove designer”. No toms? Guess that I’m not hip enough for these times.
