It doesn't get much more desperate than that. Six hours in Toronto while Air Canada looks for plane that works.

You can see this in About this Mac

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8257830

Since Apple just made this announcement, it may take a little time before a reseller such as OWC offers guidelines and specific model recommendations.

Ah. Thanks!

My 'graphiks' card does not show a Metal spec in the system report. If I'm understanding it correctly, if I got an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti, as pictured, or another Metal enabled card I'd be able to run Mojave.

Yep.

Up till now, Metal graphics on the Mac has mostly been of concern to gamers. With this latest announcement, I expect a renewed iinterest in these for awhile.

There was some hinting around in the WSJ today that the Mac Laptops may begin using iphone chips. Could this open the door for touch screen?

An iMac pro with a touchscreen and an updated DP larger mixer gui would be wonderful. Plugin GUI's are changing to larger controls to incorporate touch. Touch scrolling and larger buttons to allow for touch are what I want to see. When I use DP on my Raven monitor screens without multitouch it is still much better than a mouse. If there were touch, gestures and voice commands? Wow
