Hi Guys,
I'm new around here, and need your help.
I've got a Microbook, and it was working perfectly until last week.
Now it makes an horrible "noise" all the time, with no instrument connected, no mic, nothing.
I've recorded the noise, and kindly ask for you to listen to it:
http://www.4shared.com/music/nTbsbjta/noise.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If I mute the Mic, the noise stops, but I still can't understand, because there's no mic connected, and the recording quality with the mic became terrible.
I've tried unistalling it and re-installing, tried changing the USB port, tried connecting the Microbook on another computer, but nothing worked. It keeps making this noise.
Does anyone have a sugestion of what should I do?
Sorry for my english, I'm from Brazil
Hope somebody can help

Re: MOTU Microbook Noise Problem
Hi,
I have the same exact problem....
All in-puts are out (no single input is connected) and still there is a contiuous hissing coming out of the monitors.
The monitors are fine, cause when I mute (Line 1-2, Guitar & Mic) I can hear a clear silence. and when enabling only Host1-2 (computer) I hear a clear sound with no hissing at all by the monitors.
PLEASE HELP, I thought my Microbook was damaged or somthing.

Re: MOTU Microbook Noise Problem
hello ,
5 years later and i got the same problem with a microbook IIc
suddenly a terrible noise bursts killing everything
it happens a few times and i simply quickly pluged the usb out , or killed the speaker , or quickly turn the volume knob down,
i fear for damage to some equipment!!!!!!!
so for now im trying using also the usb power cable on the IIc
to see if its usb power related ,
but i think i will be forced to change this box to a different one...
