Stop allowing Flash Player to run is a start. It was supposed to be gone completely by Jan. 2017 but that clearly hasn't happened.

In my job, I can't do that as some state web sites still use it. OTOH, I am set up so that it never runs without me giving express permission on a case by case basis. A bit of a PIA, I know but I have to access way too many unknown sites to do it any other way.

I only install when I find I have a need. But Flash is not the only channel that can be exploited; my own ignorance and (hopefully only occasional and momentary) stupidity is more than likely preeminent.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see a slew of security updates from our favorite software vendors in the coming days and weeks.
