electronica cover of "Elusive Butterfly"

Post by menright »

Hyperpop and I know it's silly. Nonetheless I had a good time and it came together with remarkable ease. Mach5 with DP9.

Thanks for sharing comrade.

I admit complete ignorance here - I don't recall ever hearing the original.
Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

BK - the original is a kinda schlocky folk-rock-pop confection with an arrangement from Jack Nitzche. It charted at #5 here in the States (in 1966) and was an even bigger hit in your stomping ground: a #2 for five weeks on the Australian charts.

I am so old that I still remember it very well, and it's sobering to realize I've been playing it for 50 years. I used to do a punk version in NYC clubs back in the 80s; thanks to DP I've upgraded that to this most recent version. I know it's stupid but I love stupid pop, especially when I can do something fun with it.

talk to ya!

Mike, I have to ask: are you copping the mug shot of the Pusher Robot from the Terrible Secret of Space on your Singularity album cover here?

(OK, yes, I loved the original Flash version...)

This tune has been going through my head a lot over the last few months, actually. It is a lovely piece, IMHO, and it is awesome that you did a cover of it. I may pick up the inspiration from you to try a cover of it as well.

A lot of nice stuff at your Soundcloud page, Mike! :-)
