Hi all -- I recently bought a MOTU audio express and two condensers to mic up my upright piano. I'm not really familiar with this type of hardware, but I thought "hey I do IT for a living, how hard can this be?"
Well, pretty hard for me apparently. I'm using OSX but my issues are starting with the unit itself. I've got the 48v phantom power on 1&2 going to both condensers, but I'm not getting any sound to register on the unit. I also tried hooking up a mic with 1/4" input into line 3 and I'm not getting anything to register from it either.
I know I'm missing something basic and simple and have spent all morning trying to figure out WTF the gap is. I've been reading the manual and turning knobs all morning and I feel like an idiot
Thanks for any guidance

Did you
Download and install the latest drivers?
Open MOTU Audio Setup.app to see if your interface shows up?
