There's couple pitch to MIDI things out there. That one seems like a good entry-level one for techno-phobes.
I think MIDImorphosis is also quite good, though it focuses on translating guitar & bass. It is polyphonic, which is cool.
In DP you can just sing into a track, and then paste the pitch segments into a MIDI track.

I haven't tried this particular converter from Sonuus, but their Version 2 Guitar to MIDI converter works well.
