Call it a home town, down and dirty poll...
Regarding mastering, what do you Motunation brothers prefer between these two clips? (I was not involved in this project, just FYI...had my opinion and thought it'd be fun to get others two cents...)

Your opinion needed...one minute clip. Which is better?

Re: Which mix is better? MOTU brothers let me know...
Tough call, CB. There are some things I like about each, but if I had to choose, I would probably pick #2. The "space" feels more comfortable to me in #2, but #1 sounds a little cleaner. I'm still gonna vote for #2.

Thanks for voting, Phil. This is the age old question of "clean" and "open" vs "tight" and "exciting". I know what I prefer, but I wanted to see what other folks lean toward.Phil O wrote:Tough call, CB. There are some things I like about each, but if I had to choose, I would probably pick #2. I like #1 as it is a little less muddy (not that 2 is bad). I just think, given the material, a cleaner sound might be more effective.
Caveat: I only listened to about 10 seconds of each. Sorry. Gotta get to work.
