I record my band's rehearsals with my 2408mk3. I want to make it easier to plug in the bass and guitar since I now have to pull out my desk and plug in their inputs into the analog ins on the back of the 2408.
I want the alanlog ins to be on the front of my rack making it easier to plug/unplug any analog sources.
Would a patchbay work in this scenario? I am not patching in any outboard gear and did not know if a patchbay would be what I needed.
Thanks for any suggestions.
patchbay?

a good patchbay will do just fine for what you want, plus it will give you the ability to patch in whatever outboard gear you may want to expand with at a later date. compressors, effects, you get the idea.
plug ins are fine, but they still dont sound as good as a good piece of outboard gear.
if you have it all running through a board, then you can do even more on mixdown, or tracking.
