Noisy Outputs on 828mk3 Hybrid

Post by Spotron »

Has anyone ever had any issue with noisy outputs on a 828 mk3 Hybrid? My studio monitors and stage speakers are quite without any cables connected to the inputs. When they connect the speakers to the interface, I get a lot of hiss. I thought the 828mk3 Hybrid was suppose to be pretty quite on the output side. Thoughts?

I am feeding Crest Pro 7200 / EV Monitors with the 896mk3H and have very low hiss...

Did you check Cuemix FX that there is no mixing going on with a lot of gain ?

best

Check CueMix to see of there are any open noisy inputs

Yeah, I checked that and still a lot of hiss from every output. This is with or without a computer connected.

All inputs on every bus are muted, still a lot of hiss. I have a power conditioner above the MOTU and I have even tried taking it out so that the MOTU is the only thing in the rack. I have also tried to plug straight into wall power and still a lot of hiss on every bus output. Not sure yet if its the unit or not. Trying to figure out other tests to do before I contact support.

If its coming from all outputs could be a possible ground loop?

Could be a bad unit.

I can check with a ground adapter. True, it could be a bad unit. It is really clean and quite from the headphone outs though.
