MTP AVI usb: right chips, still no Windows

Post by Shackleford »

Argh.

I have the correct software in my USB MIDI Timpiece.

Still, no Windows machines (7, XP sp3) can see it.
What can I do? Nothing has helped, I've combed forums so much that my skin is melting into radioactive goo.

I am fed up. I can't just go drop $700 on new MIDI routers from MOTU, especially after this + endless 828 problems. And I *want* to buy MOTU; for the most part, I like their company and their products... when they aren't causing me huge headaches.

Have you tried calling MOTU tech support?

if i recall correctly, the computer should "see" it even if the ROM is not PC-ready. It just wont work correctly...maybe you just have a bad unit?

i don't think getting a new system will cost you $700, btw, unless you are getting multiples.

Agent, we should compare terminology.
What constitutes being seen by the computer?

I'm hesitant to make any more suggestions, but... do you have access to a Mac to see if the Mac sees it? You installed the MOTU driver software, etc, I assume? I don't know if those interfaces are recognized without running the MOTU MIDI installer.
