DA-88 type Snake

Post by SuperDave »

I just bought a Mackie Onyx 1620 which has recording outputs via DB25 connector. Quality-wise, whose snake cable should I buy?

I like the Monster stuff (500 series snakes) and Lynx makes a digital one for their AES cards that works as analog. The Monsters seem to turn up all kinds of places (Guitar Center back rooms for example) for huge discounts 'cause GC stocked up on them back when everybody used DA-88s. I bought 2 snakes a few months back for $30/each for 8 channels per snake.

Sounds like a great deal on Monster cable, which is frequently hard to find discounted.
An alternative is Mogami. Hotwired cables (hotwired.com?) in the past has made them pretty inexpesnively. Check Ebay under Mogami.

Late reply, but may help others. Check redco if you are looking for really good stuff.
