From theme, to mockup in DP, to Orchestra

Post by c0mp0ser »

Hi folks,

Made another screencast (well sorta)... just kinda going through the process of theme writing, to sample mockup, to orchestration.
DP is so instrumental in making this whole process very efficient:

Hope you like! Check out the sampled vs. live stuff too... all sampled stuff done in DP.

Best,
Mike

Hey Mike,

I just checked out the video...and I thought the mock-up sounded great!

Like you, I've been using DP forever -- as in since it was just Performer. I was just getting used to Bidule when my old dual core gave up the ghost.

I've got a 12 core now, and dare I say it, I bought Logic hoping to take advantage of 64 bit with VE Pro.

After watching your video, I'm tempted to stick out with Performer and Bidule (I've got the 64 bit beta).

Is there a way that you're getting around the one core limitation of ReWire?

Best,

Michael

Great video, Mike. Helps a lot.

On a side note... maybe it's subconcious, but that's sounds an awful lot like the EverQuest theme ;)

I'm a band teacher, and I've shared this video with my high school class (especially because they've seen me use DP for arrangements pretty often).

I have a side question. Could you tell me how you created the part of the video that shows the bars of music, then the "camera" pans ahead two bars, then it pans down to the start of the next line?

I'd like to make an instructional video for my drummers that has a drum-part that basically pans from bar to bar.

Thx

I was wondering why you weren't using Cinewinds and CineBrass...then I saw it's 3 years old!
