I just got a project to do background music for a yoga instructional recording.
The client wants a lot of different world music sounds so I plan to use Ethno & DP.
I've never done much MIDI-based music and never done anything with loops but those look like the tools to use for this project. I think it's a little like writing for film in that there are different tempos required at various times during the 75 minutes.
Because this is a new kind of work for me (and, of course, there's the deadline), I'd appreciate any suggestions about an overall workflow for this kind of project. I'd also like some suggestions about how to best use Ethno: Ethno loops as DP soundbites v. MIDI loops in DP triggering sounds in Ethno, loop slicing and MIDI mapping, or something I don't even know to ask about.
Thanks!
