msi expert mode tips?

Post by joelmusic »

hey, does anybody have any examples of how you are using the expert mode? i am a bit foggy on how i can use it to cross-fade strings, or whatever - i assume you use it in conjunction with MIDI learn. any tips would be appreciated!

thanks -

In the specific example of crossfading, you don't need to use Expert mode.. simply load the two string patches to be crossfaded into two slots, both set to the same MIDI channel, and use Modulation-mode MIDI learn (Alt-right click) on the volume knob of each of the two parts, with one of the two parts set to negative (red circle to the left). On the other hand you'd use Expert mode to key-switch between Arco and Pizzi or Tremolandi, for example.

Just for info.
if you hit multiple key switch at the same time, it will activate each part related.
Could be usefull in certain case.
Like for orchestra hit.

Have fun.
