Is there a better profile for Sound Canvases?

I use a Sound Canvas 55 and also SC-88 Pro among others in my home studio. The Unisyn Profiles that come for these are lame compared to, for example, the Roland U220 profile. I want to display all my SC-88Pro instrument names (and/or) patch names on computer screen at once to select this or that one on-the-fly while I'm auditioning a MIDI file. If there are no better profiles, is there a way I can modify the SC-88 Pro profile myself? What MIDI programming tool(s) would be needed? (Like maybe Opcode Max). And would I have to possess MOTU's source code to get the job done? I use a Macintosh.
