Recording 48 tracks at once?

Post by dbritton »

Hi folks

We are doing a live country music show and are being fed 48 tracks of audio. Unfortunately the record buffer fills up at approximately 12 seconds and stops recording.

Is there a way to increase the record buffer?? Although I am new to DP (switched from Logic), my top guy here has been using it for years but has never had this problem.

Setup: G5 2.0 dual, SATA 80 main drive, SATA 160 GB projects drive, 2.5 GB DDR400 RAM, DP 4.5.2, 48 TDIF I/O on a 2408 and 2408 mkII, PCI-424.

We can record 41 tracks without crashing.

All The best

Found the answer folks here: http://www.unicornation.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001565#000000 from Super Dave's response. Our problem was the "Disk read/write size" was wrong.

We are now recording 48 tracks simultaneously without a sweat.

All The best
