That's true but if it's done right, there's really no difference on most if not all playback systems today.AnthonyS wrote:If this is the case, can the "Beatles Edition" iPod be far behind?
And i understand that this is a probably a good thing, exposing a new generation to their music, but I still have all my Beatles vinyl, ,the CD's and now the remasters.
I can't imagine myself buying squashed versions of their catalogue

Well, that's what it turned out to be. The Beatles on iTunes. Hey, no one loves The Beatles more than me, but I think I will forget this day. I was hoping for something else. Oh well.

I was six when they hit the U.S.A. and every release was a major event for me. They really did seem to be from outer space.

OK, big confession here. I'm the only Mac user on the planet who has NEVER used iTunes. Dumb question - Does the iTunes store have quality audio? Something better than mp3 crap?

Currently files are 256 kbps AAC files, which is generally good as far as lossy files go. In the past they were lower quality, 128 kbps AAC I think.Phil O wrote:OK, big confession here. Opinions very on how this stuff sounds. Or any of the iTunes, etc. stuff. I listened to a few tunes. She's So Heavy sounded ok but Walrus was funky.

Who are the Beatles? Are they any thing like Snoop Dog?
Just joking.
I played an MP3 so much it is now worn and scratchy just like a record.
