And i understand that this is a probably a good thing, exposing a new generation to their music, but I still have all my Beatles vinyl, ,the CD's and now the remasters.

I can't imagine myself buying squashed versions of their catalogue
That's true but if it's done right, there's really no difference on most if not all playback systems today.

Well, that's what it turned out to be. The Beatles on iTunes. Hey, no one loves The Beatles more than me, but I think I will forget this day. I was hoping for something else. Oh well.

Maybe. Haven't heard them yet. I guess i'm old school. Vinyl and CD's.

I only looked quickly, but are these stereo versions, or can you get the mono?

I was six when they hit the U.S.A. and every release was a major event for me. They really did seem to be from outer space.

OK, big confession here. I'm the only Mac user on the planet who has NEVER used iTunes. Dumb question - Does the iTunes store have quality audio? Something better than mp3 crap?

Currently files are 256 kbps AAC files, which is generally good as far as lossy files go. In the past they were lower quality, 128 kbps AAC I think.

Opinions very on how this stuff sounds. Or any of the iTunes, etc. stuff. I listened to a few tunes. She's So Heavy sounded ok but Walrus was funky.
