Can't drag stereo files into Mach5 in DP4.51, or can I

Just installed a 4.51 version and everything seems to work ok, but:

Why can't I drag stereo soundbites from Soundbites window directly into Mach5 anymore? This method worked well in DP4.12.
I'm still able to drag mono files (in 4.51), but only mono files.
Is this a bug or something I should found from manual..
Anyone?

If I use the same project, I can drag stereo files in DP4.12, but it won't work in 4.51.
I tried it also with 4.5, doesn't work either. Could there be some new preference settings (in 4.5x) or something else that makes my DP work different than yours?

(Trashing prefs doesn't help).

what version of mach 5 are you on? doubt it would make any difference, but i'm on the latest update of that. haven't done anything new in dp, as far as i know.

I'm on the latest update also. There must be a simple reason why it doesn't work in my DP. I'm using latest OSX version also, but I don't think a different OSX version could change anything.

I just have to load samples into M5 in DP4.12. Then go back 4.51, that's how it works.

Edit: I noticed that I'm able to drag a stereo file from a Finder, but not from a Soundbite window. So it's has something to do with a 4.51's Soundbite window, I quess..

I b*tched about M5 and DP a while back, and I'll say it again.

There are multitudes of bugs. MOTU doesn't properly suss out the software before upgrading.

My advice, as I use M5 ALOT, along with LOTS of VI's (RMS, Atmospheres, Legacy, NI Absynth, B4, Kompakt, Reaktor, Konpakt-Storm Drum & several others, and plugs-Waves, PSP and many others:

DP 4.50 (NOT .51) and OS X.3.7

This is the most stable configuration my system (Dual 2.5 G5-3.5G RAM) has run. M5 seems to be working as well as it ever did with regard to sample editting and importing.

Preface to say, I do not know is a G4 will bear similar results.

There are many work arounds I'd also recommend, but I'd start with getting onto the most reliable system. YMMV, but I know MANY, many people having huge problems with DP 4.51.

It seems MOTU doesn't believe in BETA testing with 3rd party plugs/VI's as part of the equation. That's about the jist of it. Beyond that, their own plugins aren't even rock solid with their own software...it's funny, in an aggravating way.

I still love MOTU though!

Just to clarify, my system (G4 dual 800) is absolute stable with 4.51 and M5 works fine also, except this "drag a stereo file from Soundbite window" problem..
But somehow my oldie G4 has always been quite stable for DP. But yes, bugs still exist.

Glad to hear that G5 dual 2.5 works for you (DP/M5). I'm going to order mine next week (after Apple expo).

Good news. Just received a mail from Motu and they are aware of this behavior. So.. in the next update 'drag st file from soundbites window' will work again.
