Long Distance Rehearsal Software

Post by funkyfreddy »

Hi, Does anyone know of any software that would be good for long distance rehearsal over the internet? Anyone here use any? Wondering what the best and most cost effective solution would be........I'm working on a project with someone that's on the road constantly and we need to rehearse from time to time while they're on the road. Thanks, Fred

There are several out there. I don't have my notes handy; sorry. Maybe once I get home and can check archived email messages. The guitarist in my 80's cover band uses one of these programs for two of his other bands, as the band members are spread pretty far and so they cannot often get together for in-person sessions. He's pretty happy with it, but my drummer (who is also in one of those projects) feels the latency is too high. Still, it's better than not rehearsing at all. :-)

We're going to try using Skype ..... right now it will be just 2 singers and 2 guitars. I can see how drummers would have problems with the latency issues, hard to get around it from what I've seen. Thanks, Fred

Good luck.

I'm printing this out this time, so that I don't forget to look up the service that my friends are using for this past year.
