Mach 5 Distortion

Mach 5 Distortion
I am getting distortion when I use Mach 5. I turned down both the Mach 5 fader and MIDI fader in DP yet when I hold down a key on the keyboard there are bits of distortion and crackling. This is happening with the samples that come with Mach 5. Any suggestions?
