Does BPM receive mod wheel info?

Post by saintjoe »

Just wondering?

I open up synth anthology sounds in BPM and the mod wheel doesn't work on the sound, wondering if it's just something I need to change on my end or if it's across the board.

Sure does... I use pitch bend quite a bit with my synths going to my studio rig and BPM responds just as expected. As a tidbid, on my home setup, I had to be sure to configure my Novation Remote 32 SL to send pitch bend data before that worked with BPM.

Maybe you have something similar going on...

Pitchwheel works fine for me too, its the mod wheel that doesn't. The same sound receive mod wheel fine in uvi workstation.

make sure your mod wheel cc# is not mapped to another control!

Mine works fine so probably what ssp said. Modwheel probably has a default CC#. If you used it for a controller mapping it might cause issues. Would be nice to get a list of all the default CC #s so we don't cross them. I know vol, pan, and cutoff are assigned but what cc # are they using?

yeah I've been going through the cc's and haven't found one that uses it yet lol.

I'll keep looking, it's driving me nuts lol. I'll just change it one by one...

I think the default is 1, funny that pitchwheel works though...hmmm.

Sorry I actually meant to include that my synths send Mod wheel data as well. On one of my boards the Joystick is both, the other board has them seperated. But again, BPM receives from both of these no problem...

yeah...I never opened/used this emu control panel lol, but it's pretty cool, I just never had a reason to as everything usually receives what it needs too.

I think I had mapped one of my controls on the Maschine to the same cc, but all is well and I'm happy

thanks everyone

aha! there you go, most commoncause of non responsice controller commands that is. the engine does not know where to send the commands as it cannot do a split path command so it just stops the command signal dead.

I had the same issue while i was building the controller, took me ages to realise what i had done, took 2 seconds to get the controller to find the issue.

I have got a bpm line drawing somewhere, if i can find it i will put a link to it, you can print it out as a controller mapping sheet and mark each control to the main interface relative to your own cc# assignments.

you never know it may come in handy.

yeah...it would have helped if I had a map of my controllers defaults lol, I've never even looked at them lol. Glad the control panel works on windows 7!
