best DP efx for SOLO PIANO

Post by surrenderband »

im recording some strictly piano music for a wedding. Ill be recording a Roland FP 12 (or something like that-great sounding live piano sound). What would be some DP efx to put on it afterwards, or some "inside DP" "mastering" techniques to put on the tracks. Thanks

If the wedding is outside you could add a little room reverb. If it's inside you'll get natural reverb from the acoustics of the room and adding more would just muddy up the sound. Other than that it's probably best to just leave it alone. You could check the passages for ultra-quiet sections, and perhaps bump up the volume a bit. Or if you want to get fancy you could add a synth pad in places, but then you would be entering New Age territory, and you'd have to go buy yourself a rain stick.
