I just reversed the two values of cc#23 (0 and 127) for the stop button in enigma and now its working. So in enigma value 1 should be 0 and value 2 127 ONLY for the stop button.
In the commands window in DP make sure that it reads #23 :0 in the MIDI event field, applying James hold&click trick, For all other settings follow the excellent instruction from James.
I guess MOTU has changed the behavior of the stop button slightly because running DP5 I never had that problem. A few days ago I upgraded to DP7 and the button stopped working.
Hope this helps.

As for the Axiom... I'd only do that from the front panel of the keyboard. One of these days I'll post a new tutorial.
2.66 Quad-Core MacPro (1,1), 7 GB RAM, OS 10.6.8, DP 8.01, MOTU HD192, 24I/O, UAD-2 Duo, Lucid GENx192, HV-3C, Red Type B, Dean guitars, Marshall amps, etc., etc.!

I was looking at an Axiom for use primarily as a MIDI controller, but if it will do fun stuff with DP as well that'd be a bonus.
828 mkII (Firewire 1.2.4; MIDI 1.2.9)
OS X 10.4.11

It should work, but the problem is you have to program the buttons from the front panel interface and can't use Enigma. For whatever reason the edits to the button parameters don't seem to "stick" using Enigma.

Ooo tiny buttons for programming in a little display! Just like my first sequencer.
Just so I'm clear, here--"HyperControl" is just the featureset that allows me to assign controls to DP functions. "Enigma" is the software that *would* allow me to do that on my Mac *if* I had DP 6.x. So I can still get the control of DP 4.61 via the Axiom, I just have to create and save the setups via the keyboard itself, rather than the Mac. Yes?
Also: a related (but non-MOTU) question--can the PRO 61 output on all 16 MIDI channels, or just four, like its "non-PRO" sibling?

Okay, first of all not sure about "Hypercontrol." If that's something to do with the new Axiom Pro controllers, I know nothing about that. My post here was simply about how to make the transport buttons work with Digital Performer. Nothing more.
As far as Enigman goes-- that's a Macintosh App by M-Audio that is used to program settings on various M-Audio controllers like the Axion and Oxygen via an on-screen interface instead of from the front panel of the controller itself. What I found in my own experimentation is that Enigma worked okay with my Oxygen 49, but when I sold that and bought an Axiom 49, the Axiom would not retain the setups I created in Enigma. I was forced to enter them from the front panel of the Axiom 49.
Again, this was the Axiom and not the Axiom Pro. I know nothing about "hyper control."

Let's start with the STOP button.
1. press ADVANCED on your Axiom 25
2. press the STOP button
3. press Ctrl Assign (this is a white key button. Should be the note C) this should make the initials CC flash in the LED screen.
4. press 1, 4, 6, on the black keys (We need to enter 146 which is the code for MIDI CC TOGGLE, this is the secret code to not have you buttons stick or stay on forever in dp7 or any daw for that matter.)
5. press ENTER (should be last white key)
NEXT (abridged version)
1. press ADVANCED, press STOP, press DATA 1, press 2, 3, and then press ENTER
2. press ADVANCED, press STOP, press DATA 2, press 000, and then press ENTER
3. press ADVANCED, press STOP, press DATA 3, press 127, and the press ENTER
after all that... you should see a bunch of flashing numbers once you press the stop button. Basically it's toggle between On/Off and thus your stop button in dp turns on and off. Oh forgot to mention you'll still need to have dp learn the command so be sure to open it up (shift + L) and have the stop button learn the new command as stated earlier in this post.
It works for all buttons play, record, rewind, etc. But for fast forward and rewind I personally use the Pitch Bend. I don't use when I play so it comes in handy. Enjoy!!

I noticed that this thread addresses some of the issues that are related to my thread start earlier today about finding a good keyboard controller for DP. Do you know if the Oxygen can be used for more than just transport controls with DP? Can the sliders be used for mixing or can the knobs be mapped or cc control etc.? If so, is all of this a huge pain to program or is it relatively painless?
Thanks for your help!

I looked at both the commands menu and info in my DP manual and I looked at the Oxygen manual and couldn't figure out how the faders get mapped. Is the MIDI learn with the faders a pretty simple/straightforward process?
Thanks,
Bill

I was able to set the commands in DP, but it's not working. I wonder if anyone could help me figure out why? I have an Axiom 25.
