CPU useage up on G5 Dual 2.0 with 4.5gb RAM

Hello,
Has anyone experienced using MSI with an older PowerMac Dual 2 gb machine? I will load up 16 instruments for a large session and use the cache at 512. It still gives me a lotof CPU usage on the performance meter. Is it acceptable to say that the CPU is too slow for MSI or is it a matter of dumping more RAM in it? I do have an extra SATA drive in my system. Anyone with an older machine work around would be appreciated. MSI is installed on my boot drive.
